New Director Announced for X-Men 3

Matthew Vaughn, have you heard of him…trust me I had to look him up
in IMDB to see who he was. He has produced several movies including
Layer Cake, coming out later this year, and Snatch. He is a good friend
of director Guy Ritchie, and this appears to be his first major film as
a director. This is a lot to take on for a first time director, but
Singer has basically set up the third one to hopefully be a slam dunk,
especially with most of the cast returning.

Yet, there still is not official news on Halle Berry. Though she was quoted as saying, “ I
have not read the script. All I have asked, is that if I come back as
Storm, she need to be closer to the comic book. So, if they have in
fact written her closer to the comic book character, then I’m in. If
not, I’m out. I hope I’m in though. I love Storm, and really want to be
part of the last film.”

Fox is eyeing the coveted
Memorial Day 2006 spot and production should begin soon, so hopefully
we will get an answer from Berry soon too.
