Passion Having Problems With TV Networks

The USA Today reported that Mel Gibson is having problems with various TV networks when trying to find a place for his movie The Passion of the Christ to air. The networks are not all the comfortable with the graphic content of the film, even though it has already grossed over $360 million since its Feb. 25th release date. ABC has confirmed turning it down, and executives say a pickup is doubtful at CBS, NBC and Fox.

Gibson is also having the same problems with pay-cable channels, but not for the same reasons. HBO already has a full plate of movie premieres over the next year, Showtime has passed on the film, and the Starz network hasn’t made a decision.

This could mean that Passion will only be available on DVD when it is done with its theatrical release.
