Turtles Teaser Trailer Trotted Out

Warner Bros, in association with the Weinstein Company and Imagi Animation Studios released the first look at their upcoming CG animated film based on the comic book and cartoon sensation of the 90’s, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

We first heard about the animated resurrection exactly 1 year ago today that Peter Laird, one half of the original creative team behind the comics, wanted to bring the amphibians back to the silver screen, this time as computer rendered ninjas instead of the glaringly oversized animatronic suits, impressive though they were.

The teaser begins very dark, sleek and fast paced, almost promising a more serious adult feel (a la Batman Begins), but as Michaelangelo falls into dumpster towards the end, it promises no lack of humor for the kiddies. I won’t hold my breath.
