VFX Oscar Short List Announced
Before the Oscar nominees for any category are announced, there is a
nominee – nominee list. For visual effects, that short list was
announced by the Academy today:
- Batman Begins
- Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- King Kong
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- War of the Worlds.
Now, we’re not implying anything…but why isn’t Sin City on this list?
Some may recall that this movie was done outside of the Academy’s
approval so that they could list two directors. Convenient, isn’t it?
Anyway, of these 7, only 3 will be chosen as front runner nominees and
announced on the 31st along with the nominees for the other categories.
Our picks?
King Kong, Star Wars and Narnia. Winner? Kong.
