Doom 3 Specs.

The Houston Chronicle reported on their website today the confirmed requirements for the upcoming Doom 3, considered among many gamers to be the longest awaited sequel in the history of gaming.

Confirmed only recently, the August 3rd shelf date is likely to bring hordes of wannabe space marines to retail outlets. They should be warned to bone-up on their PCs first though. According to developer id’s chief exec Todd Hollenshead, the first person shooter will require:

  • a 1.5 ghz P4 or AMD Athlon 1500 processor
  • 384 megs of RAM
  • a whopping 2 gigs of hard drive (still smaller than UT2004’s monstrous 4 gigs)
  • an nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better, an ATI Technologies 8500 or better

Not specifically mentioned, we’re guessing a 128mg vid card from the above choices is your best bet for a decent experience.
