Gameboy Vending Machines?

Vending machines are a wildly popular, semi permanent fad in the far east. Nearly anything can be purchased curbside in Tokyo by an automated quarter guzzler, from french fries to popcorn to even panties!

Soon to come could very well be games for the Gameboy Advanced. Technology Manufacturer AM3, in conjuntion with Nintendo, is developing this:


A coin (and perhaps credit card) operated vending machine that currently downloads short animated shows to GBA owners with a special 32meg peripheral. Experts speculate these machines could be used to download local maps, restaurant guides and eventually games to the handhelds.

Unfortunately though, none are planned for the US or the UK, so don’t expect to see them on our shores anytime soon.
