King of Fighters Fights Back in 3D on Xbox

SNK, the acclaimed developer that brought some of the best 2D fighting
games to arcades and homes all over the world is taking its flagship
title to new heights, or rather depths on the Xbox.

Originally available for the PS2 back in October, King of Fighters:
Maximum Impact-Maniax takes the KOF franchise into the 3D realm of
fighters to compete against Tekken 5 and the recently announced Soul
Calibur 3. Developed exclusively for the Xbox, enhancements to the Xbox
version will take advantage of Xbox Live for full network and online
play, as well as ladder and tournament support. Nineteen total
fighters, many from previous KOF games, fill the roster more fully than
its PS2 counterpart.

Gameplay modes include Story Mode, VS Battle, Survival, Practice and
Training. New combos and a Knock Back attack should keep players button
mashing into the wee hours.

Look for King of Fighters: Maximum Impact – Maniax for the Xbox sometime late may (did someone say E3?).
