Nintendo DS: Instant Messanger?

The Nintendo DS has become synonymous with rumor and speculation since
it’s press release last month. Little is known officially, other than
the unit will have 2 directional pads, two ‘flipper’ style buttons
(left and right) and 1 of each A and B buttons. It’s major draw being
that it consists of 2 5 inch LCD screens that will fold in on each
other and have similar aesthetics to the Game Boy Advanced SP, despite
Nintendo’s urging that the product is not meant to replace the popular
handheld. Instead, evidence suggets that the unit will be multimedia
based, but still include the core gaming aspect. CNN reports analyst
findings that show a potential Instant Messaging function to be
included using free wireless technology, similar to the frequencies FRS
style personal radios use. Users will likely use a stylus, PDA-like, to
send messages as well as in game. Possibly both, but again, that’s just
speculation. Read the full story here.
