Revenge of the Sith Console Shots

Fans who bought the Star Wars Trilogy DVD’s back in September were
treated to a sneak peak of LucasArts’ upcoming action fighter based on
the final film in the prequel trilogy, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

The trailer revealed some of the best looking saber dueling in a video
game since Jedi Academy was released for the PC and various consoles in
2003. These recently released screenshots further concrete that belief.

In Revenge of the Sith, you follow the path of Obi-Wan Kenobi and/or
Anakin Skywalker as they progress through the story as it plays out in
this year’s summer film of the same title. Light and Dark side Force
powers are at your disposal in order to take down hoards of droids and
other Jedi. Of particular note is that the prequels’ stunt coordinator,
Nick Gillard, was called in to create choreography specifically for the
fight sequences and moves in the game.

At press time, developers promise 16 levels of gameplay, a co-op and
multiplayer dueling aspect, several minutes of film footage as well as
the familiar John Williams score that accompanies every other game
built off the franchise.

Star Wars games have been hit and miss and if we were to judge based on
these screenshots and trailer, we’d lean more towards the “quite
possibly very cool” side, but we’ll know more when it hits shelves, May
5th for the Xbox and Playstation 2. Versions for the GBAsp and Nintendo
DS will also become available, but likely with a different style of
gameplay.
