Sam and Max Sequel Cancelled

In a VERY short press release today, Lucasarts has announced that is has halted all developement and production for the sequel to their immensely popular graphic adventure, Sam And Max Hit The Road.

Teasers for the game debuted at E3 in 2003 and sparked great interest from old and new fans alike. Sam and Max was known for it’s over-the-top comedy in a cartoon environment based on the comic series, Sam and Max: Freelance Police.

The press release does little more than quote Mike Nelson, GM and VP or finance and operations, states “After careful evaluation of current market place realities and underlying economic considerations, we’ve decided that this was not the appropriate time to launch a graphic adventure on the PC”.

This geeks opinion? There’s something else going on here.
