State of Emergency Sequel Coming Soon
After changing hands more than X-Men 3’s Director’s chair, the sequel to Rockstar Games’ chaos-fest has found a home with Scottish developers at DC Studios.
Prior to last May, State of Emergency 2 was doomed to be vaporware when
it’s prior developers dumped the project entirely. SouthPeak
Interactive announced today that it will publish the title and make it
available exclusively on the PS2 and PSP handheld system.
The
original characters are back, sporting more guns and more hatred for
the “Corporation”. This time around though, Spanky, MacNeil and Bull
add vehicular destruction to their rap sheets. Helicopters, Tanks, APCs
and Speedboats are up for grabs and armed to the grills. Each character
sports a special ability as well. For examply, Spanky’s street cred
allows him to employ the local gangs of Capitol City in taking down the
Enforcer rush. Players can even switch between characters for health
and tactical reasons. Arcade challenges and five multiplayer modes
round out th title.
Expect State of Emergency 2 for the PS2 in the US sometime in February of 2006 and the UK in March.
