Batman Begins Sequel Officially Announced

This morning Warner Bros. announced the title, cast, and director for
their much anticiapted sequel to Batman Begins. The title will be
The Dark Knight and will include the Joker as the villian.
Christopher Nolan will direct the movie and Christian Bale will reprise
his role as Batman. The shocker comes in casting Heath Ledger in
the role of the Joker. I think that I am torn because I am so
fond of Jack Nicholson’s portrayal in Batman (1989). Since Batman
Begins was such a huge success and Nolan did such a great job with the
story and directing, I am willing to trust his judgement on this
one. I am curious to see pictures from the set when they start
floating onto the net.

Production on this movie will start in early 2007, which means a 2008 release date.
