Disney announces Tarzan II

On June 14th, Disney will be releasing a direct-to-video prequel to their pretty successful Tarzan animated feature from 1999. From what we’ve found out Tarzan II
covers more about Tarzan’s youth with his gorilla family. It’ll be in
anamorphic widescreen, with Dobly Digital 5.1 & DTS as sound
options.

Extras include: a Gorilla Grumble game, Terk and Tantor’s Jungle Guide;
a featurette entitled Legacy of Tarzan: The Making of Tarzan II; a
music video and a pop-up feature related to the film’s ape language.
Expect it’s price to be a hefty $29.99.

Personally, it just
shows Disney is more interested in the business side of show business.
It doesn’t really make sense to make sequels to stories they didn’t
originate. It’s especially annoying when they mess with classic
animated features by making a sequel and having to change the cast
because the voice actors are not available anymore.There’s a reason why
most of the hollywood talent doesn’t return for these direct-to-video
sequels.
