Eisner Resigns From Disney

Michael Eisner announced on Friday that he will not seek an opportunity to renew his contract as CEO of Disney when his contract comes to an end in 2006. During his two decades with Disney, Eisner has been surrounded with controversy including the failed negotiations with Pixar and Miramax. The ironic thing is that once his resignation was announced Disney started looking for a replacement and Steve Jobs, current CEO of Pixar and Apple Computers, is on the list. This would be a great move for Disney and would allow them to get the CG studio back that has made them big bucks with movies like Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo. The question remains though…which name would it finally end up being…Disney or Pixar?

This geeks opinion? Eisner was fired, and it’s about time. I would love to see Disney return to the classic studio that Walt always envisioned, but I doubt that it will ever happen.
