Serenity DVD details released

Yesterday, Universal has revealed Joss Whedon’s Serenity is set for DVD
release on December 20th. The film will be available in dual anamorphic
widescreen and full frame editions (MSRP $29.98 each). Both versions
will include Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, deleted scenes, outtakes, a video
introduction with Whedon, audio commentary with writer/director Joss
Whedon and 3 featurettes (including Future History: The Story of Earth
That Was, What’s in a Firefly and Re-Lighting the Firefly).

While it’s a bit surprising that the DVD release is just under 3 months
after it’s intial theatrical release, it’s not full unexpected. Even
those it got rave reviews,
box office results were rather disappointing (most likely due to
Universal’s oversaturation of publicity for the film. Look for our
review in late December.
